weigh in day 30

Day 30. Weigh in time. When I started this blog I weighed 345 pounds. On day 30 I weigh 317 pounds. That’s 28 pounds in thirty days. I couldn’t be happier with my results. It’s been a lot of hard work and it’s going to be a lot more hard work to reach my goal. The next 30 days will be critical. It’s my opinion that the first 20 pounds comes off easily. It’s the next 20 that is the hardest.
I seriously doubt I will be able to keep up this pace but, I’m going to do my best. My diet could be a little stricter but, again, I’m only human, and I love food, so, it is what it is. My will power is good and I have firm grip on my goal, which is to be 260 pounds.
I plan on turning up the weight training next month. I have always been told muscle outweighs fat 2 to 1 so I expect my weight loss to slow down a bit. My monthly weight loss goal will be 18 pounds a month from here on out. I have to give props to my gym, healthsport. They have a great selection of cardio and weight lifting equipment. I have a real flexible work schedule that allows me to hit the gym all the time. For that I am happy.
Thanks to those who are following me on my journey. The reason I started this blog was to put pressure on myself to perform. Up to this point everything is going as planned. Stay tuned for more of what’s to come.

  1. Wonderful work Butcher! Keep it up :)
I read & subscribe to blogs & get magazines & read more at the library & I'd have to say that kicking up your cardio in the next month is more important than kicking up the weight lifting.

I'm no expert, but consistent, low weight lifting & more cardio are going to get you the results you need... that along with paying attention to your diet, drinking lots of H2O & getting lots of rest.

I think you're going into the next 30 days with an open mind & a realistic one as well--the first 20 is 'easier' than the next, but give yourself a TON OF CREDIT for the first 20!! It's simply incredible!! :) Perhaps you'll join us, running the Cherry Festival 5k this year :)

Take care. Give my best to Jen (& the pooches) as well!
