end of week 14

Wednesday morning I start my day off with an apple, a banana, and an orange for breakfast. Then I head to the gym. Its 20 minutes on the treadmill and then over to the weights to work my biceps and my traps. 40 more minutes of cardio and then I’m out the door. For lunch I ate a huge salad and some strawberries. Wednesday night for dinner I made a shrimp alfredo dish that was delicious. I have learned to control my portions at dinner time so; I did not eat until I couldn’t move.lol.
Thursday started off with an apple a banana and an orange for breakfast. Then I head to healthsport for some cardio and weight training today. I’m working my shoulders and back today but first it’s the treadmill. I finish with that 20 minutes and head over to the weights to do my routine. I finish off my workout with another strong 40 minute round of cardio. I ate the left over alfredo for lunch and for dinner I had a salad with a banana.
Friday morning for breakfast it was the usual fruit assortment and then I’m off to the gym. I start with the usual 20 minutes on the treadmill and then head over to the weights for a chest and triceps routine before finishing my workout with 30 minutes on the bike and 10 laps in the pool. Lunch was pizza and a salad. Dinner ended up being a tuna filet with broccoli and a baked potato.
Saturday for breakfast I ate an apple a banana and an orange and then I head to the gym. I do 20 minutes of cardio and then head over to the weights for a bicep and trap workout and then finish up my cardio for the day. For lunch I ate sushi and steamed shrimp. tonight for dinner we are meeting up with a bunch of friends as kind of a fair well event at a local brew pub so, there will be lot’s of beer flowing and plenty of food. I ate a salad and a fantastic cheeseburger with a huge portabella and some bacon on top. Rave revues for that burger.
Sunday morning I just have too much to do before we head on our big trip back to Michigan to go to the gym. I do start my day with a healthy breakfast of fruit. Then I Spent the rest of the day packing and getting the motor home ready. We are heading to some friends house for a dinner bbq, also kind of a test run for our motor home. Our friends live 50 miles up in the mountains.
I enjoyed my time in Humboldt County. All of the food in the restaurants is about as healthy and as organic as you will ever find. Every place I went to and ate at always had grass fed beef grown right in Humboldt County. I met some great people while I was here, ironically most of them from Michigan. I am very ready to go home though, 6 months was a long time to be away for me.
I know I face some new challenges when I get home. I won’t have the luxury of having the gym 2 miles down the road and I know I will have distractions. I definitely admit to having a hard time these last 2 weeks finding the motivation for my cardio. I’m just so tired of those machines. That’s the beauty of returning home. I have plenty off exercise tricks up my sleeve and intend on using them all when I get back to Michigan. Now, just a 2600 mile motor home ride across the country! My blog will not be until next Sunday due to the fact we will be rolling out………

beginning of week 14

Monday morning I ate 2 waffles with strawberries and 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast. We are taking the motor home to the shop today to get it ready for the long 2600 mile journey back to Michigan in a few days. I also have to work so, no trip to the gym for me today. I snacked on some dried fruit and nuts before eating a salad for lunch. Dinner was cheese pizza on Monday.
Tuesday morning I eat an apple a banana and an orange for breakfast and then head off to the gym. I do my chest and triceps routine today along with 60 minutes of cardio. I eat a salad for lunch along with some strawberries and mango. A few hours later I get pretty hungry and go get a veggie burrito from the taco truck. We ate a late dinner consisting of baked fish and another salad.
This is my last week here in northern California and I have a few days left at the gym to make the most out of them. So, onward and upward!

week 13

Sorry that I have been a little hit or miss lately with my blog. This post today will be kind of a catch up blog for last week. Monday morning I start out with yogurt, grapes and strawberries for breakfast. We are heading north today to go for a hike in the redwoods. We stopped for lunch which was sushi and steamed shrimp. The hike wasn’t as much exercise as I would have liked it to be but, I got to see a lot of cool things I have never seen before. It truly is humbling to stand in a forest of redwoods. I suggest everyone do it in your lifetime. When we got I ate a huge salad for dinner. Spinach and romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms.
Tuesday morning I ate a banana an apple and an orange for breakfast. We are going to get the motor home out of storage today and I also have to work so no trip to the gym today for me. I ate a salad for lunch and head to work. For dinner I had 3 pieces of cheese pizza.
Wednesday morning I ate a banana, apple and an orange for breakfast. Then I head to the gym for some cardio. 60 minutes and I’m out the door. Lunch ended up being a huge salad and then I'm off to work. Dinner on Wednesday was organic mac and cheese and some steamed broccoli.
Thursday it was a banana, grapes and an apple for breakfast. Then it’s off to healthsport for some more cardio training, 60 minutes and then I’m off to work. For lunch I ate steamed shrimp and a salad. Dinner ended up being cheese pizza on Thursday. For a late night snack I ate a banana, some strawberries and mango.
Friday morning breakfast was a banana an apple and some grapes. Then I hit the gym. I’m weight training today, working my chest and triceps. But first, it’s cardio. 20 minutes to start and then my weight training and finish off with 40 minutes of cardio. For lunch I had a salad and a couple of hours later I ate some peanut butter toast. The peanut butter is all natural and the toast is whole wheat. For dinner I ate a huge delicious salad. Then treated myself to some dibs for dessert.
Saturday morning I start my day off with a banana and an apple and then head to the gym. I’m working my biceps and traps today along with the normal cardio routine.  For lunch I ate a salad and some almonds and also drank a low sodium V-8. Then I had to work. The boss made homemade enchiladas for dinner. I had him make mine beans and rice only.
Sunday morning it was an apple and a banana to start and then I’m off to healthsport for another workout. I work my back and shoulders and do 40 minutes of cardio. I Have a salad for lunch and then head to work for the day. For dinner on Sunday it was 3 pieces of cheese pizza.
I had a real busy work week this week. It did dictate my work out a little bit. I still made it to the gym 5 times this week and I’m happy with that.

90 day weigh in

Today marks my 90 day weigh in. I came into the month weighing 305 and after stepping on the scale today I am now at 307. 2 pounds gained in the third month. It was definitely kind of an odd month for me. It started out with going to the hospital for a couple of days. I also got really sick and hurt my shoulder which cost me a few days at the gym this month.
All excuses aside, it’s my diet that needs the most work. Not that I don’t know how to improve my diet, it’s the part of actually sticking to it that I’m talking about. My work at the gym is still good. I don’t see anyone there out working me, ever! I have been growing very tired of the same cardio routine day in and day out. I’m really looking forward to being able to do cardio work outside now that the weather is turning nice again.
My 4th month will be a big one for me. I am leaving northern California to return home to northern Michigan in a few days. We are planning on leaving here on the 11th of this month, I’m sure we’ll be on the road for 4 days or so. The plan is to work really hard at the gym before I go and also I plan on only eating fruits and veggies until we arrive in northern Michigan. It’s going to be a tall task but, one I look forward to.
I’m not disappointed in my 90 day weigh in, not really the word I would use right now. I just feel I need to tighten up the program and stick to it. This is going to be a critical month. It’s real easy for me to work out here in northern California. The real test will be when I return home to distractions that I don’t have out here. So, with my 2 pound weight gain I rage on. Hey, the 2 pound gain just makes for a better story in the future, stay tuned!

end of week 12

Saturday morning I ate yogurt and a banana and drank a low sodium v-8 for breakfast. Then I head to healthsport for some cardio exercise. I do 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the arc trainer, and 20 minutes on the bicycle. I eat a salad as soon as I get home and then head to work for the day. While working I ate a roast beef sandwich on wheat and had a bowl of beef stew a few hours later.
Sunday I also start with yogurt and a banana and this time add an apple. I head to the gym for cardio. I do 60 hard minutes and head home. I’m working today and I ate 3 pieces of cheese pizza before leaving the house. While at work I had 2 taco’s that were made from grass-fed tenderloin so, they were very lean and tasty. Probably the best taco’s I’ve even eaten. I snack on an orange before going to bed.
